From here, you can reach Central London in less than 30 minutes, making it easy to explore landmarks such as the West End, museums and galleries.  From the house, you can walk, take a bus or use the (payable by card) car park here.
  • Train (Thameslink)Mill Hill Broadway station is nearby (5–10 minutes by car or bus), with direct services to St Pancras International, City Thameslink, Farringdon and beyond. A convenient option for both central London and onward travel.  There is a (payable) car park.
  • Buses – The closest bus routes include the 221 and 240, which connect to Mill Hill Broadway, Edgware and surrounding areas.
  • Taxis / Uber – Readily available and often the easiest option for short journeys to stations or nearby areas.
  • Driving – The property is well located for the M1 and A1, making it easy to travel in and out of London or explore further afield.

London uses contactless payment (card or phone) across all public transport, so there is no need to purchase tickets in advance.

Exploring the local surroundings

The houses are set beside the historic Ridgeway (one of Britain’s oldest routes) but on a quiet private residential road.  This leafy residential neighbourhood is known for its open green spaces, scenic walks and village-like charm—providing a peaceful retreat just beyond the city’s pace.

With beautiful countryside quite literally on your doorstep. you’ll find sturnning spots such as Darlands Lake Nature Reserve which provides a particularly peaceful setting for waterside walks and wildlife spotting.  This is very dog friendly, but can be muddy in winter.  From here, you can enjoy scenic walks stretching towards Totteridge, one of North London’s most picturesque villages.

The houses are located 2 minutes walk from the popular Finchley Garden Centre – this has a lovely café serving coffee, home made lunches and afternoon tea and is dog and family friendly.

For families, Belmont Farm is a much-loved local attraction on the Ridgeway, and there are also nearby equestrian centres offering horse riding—adding to the area’s relaxed, countryside character.

Local pubs and restaurants

  • Adam & Eve – good local pub at the top of the lane on the Ridgeway.  Great for families and dogs welcome too.
  • The Rising Sun – 5 minutes away by car, a historic pub with a smart Italian based menu including pizza.  Can order via Deliveroo and Uber Eats too.
